Crown Club

This project supports young women as they develop leadership and character, and is open to girls in grades 9th-12th with a minimum GPA. The high school organization promotes service to children in our community alongside current JA members through various projects.

In 2021, Crown Club decided to adopt Bedz 4 Kids as the main project that they aim to raise money for. Through their annual finance project, Princess Tea Party, and a separate Fall fundraiser, selling Jubilations Cheesecakes, the Crown Club challenges themselves annually to raise funds for Bedz 4 Kidz and other programs for children in the community.

The fundraiser this year was noteworthy as the Crown Club sold a record number of cheesecakes for their chapter totaling 348 and raising $4,000. Each member was challenged to sell 3 cheesecakes. On average, each member instead sold 8 with one member selling 81!

On January 31st, 2022, serving alongside the JA Starkville Chapter, the Crown Club participated in a Bedz for Kidz bed build. Crown Club eagerly learned how to use power tools, assemble beds, and learn more about the need for beds in their community. At the end of a long day, 5 complete beds were built and 40 frames were assembled.

In April 2022, Crown Club joined Junior Auxiliary in purchasing and collecting linens, comforters, blankets and hygiene kits, which will be delivered with the new beds that were built in January.

All members must meet annual requirements to remain in good standing and receive community service hours. Crown Club girls do an annual finance project (Princess Tea Party), and donate proceeds to a local organization, and a scholarship for a senior girl in Crown Club.
